My Spirit At Rest

Zechariah 6:01-08

Key Verse 8:

“Then he cried to me, “Behold, those who go toward the north country have set my Spirit at rest in the north country.”

  1. Look at v. 1. When Zechariah lifted his eyes, what did he see? What do you think is significant that 4 chariots came out from 2 mountains of bronze?

  2. Look at vs. 2-3. What were the colors of the different chariot horses? What might the color of these horses signify? (Rev. 6:1-8)

  3. Look at v. 4. What question did Zechariah ask? What do you think Zechariah’s question reveals about him?

  4. Look at v. 5. Where are the four chariots going? Why do you think they present themselves to the Lord before going to the ‘four winds’ of heaven?

  5. Look at v. 6. Where do the horses go? Why do you think each color of horses is sent in a specific direction and why might the red horses’ direction not be specified?

  6. Look at v. 7. Why do you think the horses were ‘strong’ and ‘impatient’? When did the horses actually ‘go and patrol’ the earth?

  7. Look at v. 8. What happened in the north country after the horses went there? What do you think is significant about this? How have things changed since the first vision in Zechariah 1:15?

  8. Why might the vision in today’s passage be beneficial for the people to receive while they are working on rebuilding the temple?
